The Recovery to Practice Resource Center is pleased to announce the second Webinar of its 2010 series, "What Recovery Means for Acute Care." It will take place Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. Participation is free of charge and is open to providers, consumers, family members, policy makers and all others interested in learning about advancing recovery-oriented practice.

Description

How can behavioral health care be provided in a recovery-oriented fashion within acute care settings? This is a question that is often asked by behavioral health professionals who are grappling with the transformation process and are trying to ensure that the values and principles of recovery permeate all aspects of a system of care. This Webinar will begin to address this important and complex question. Presenters will discuss:

Effective models of culture-change in inpatient settings;
Experiences in bringing peer staff into acute care settings, including the challenges, successes, and benefits of doing so and the transformative impact that peer supports can have on acute care;
The various consumer-managed/staffed crisis residential alternatives that currently exist.

Following these presentations, ample time will be devoted to responding to the questions and comments of Webinar participants
