The Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services has received the the final evaluation report completed by IPS Vermont (Intentional Peer Support).

SAMHS is currently weighing the recommendations in the document and will develop formal commitments and a work plan as next steps in the process of expanding and improving Intentional Peer Support Specialist training and certification in Maine.

Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Hires New Recovery Services Manager

The Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS) put forward the following letter to introduce the new Recovery Services Manager they have hired..... 

 

  

Dear Stakeholders and Service Providers,

 

The Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS) is pleased to announce that Matthew Wells will be joining SAMHS as the new Recovery Services Manager starting Monday, February 16, 2015.  Matthew has over 10 years of experience working for Los Angeles County Mental Health Services, California, and has a MSW from the University of Southern California, BA in English from Providence College, and is a LCSW.    He has experience drafting policy, curriculum and guidelines working with county departments/offices, community providers, clients, homeless, recovery community and providing clinical services.   He also has experience teaching for the Social Work Department at USCLA.  Matt is originally from Maine and is looking forward to returning to Maine.  Please join me in welcoming Matt to SAMHS.
