Sweetser has three paid peer support positions open in Brunswick and Portland.
The primary role of the Peer Support Specialist is to be an inspiration to individuals who are in crisis or are experiencing emotional distress. By applying the tools the Peer Support Specialist has developed in his or her own recovery as well as the philosophy and values of Intentional Peer Support, the Peer Support Specialist will Build a connection, Consider Worldview, Maintain Mutuality and Move Towards a new way of being, within the new relationship being built with the individual. The Peer Support Specialist will collaborate, coach, and challenge individuals in viewing crisis as an opportunity for growth and change, within each individuals Recovery process.
Mid Coast Hospital Emergency Department (Deadline is 5:00 pm Friday March 11)
Located at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.; this is a 30-32 hour a week paid Peer Support Specialist position, with benefits. The schedule is from 11:00am to 9:00 pm on days to be negotiated. This position works closely with Sweetser’s Mobile Crisis team and Mid Coast Hospital emergency department personnel to support individuals in emotional distress. A driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
Peer Crisis Respite / Intentional Warm Line (Open until Filled)
Located in Brunswick at 174 Mere Pt Road, this is a Relief Peer Support Specialist position for the midnight to 9:00 am shift. This position supports Peer Crisis Respite guests and answers Intentional Warm Line calls.
Intentional Warm Line (Open until Filled)
Located in Portland, this 9 hour a week paid Peer Support Specialist position is from midnight to 9:00 am on Thursdays
